GOV. CRIST SIGNS FARM EQUIPMENT LEGISLATION INTO LAW

Gov. Charlie Crist signed Senate Bill 1946, Overwidth Farm Implements, into law June 30. The law became effective July 1.

SB 1946, by Sen. Carey Baker (R) Eustis and Rep. Greg Evers (R) Milton, revises provisions of the movement of certain trucks, tractors, and other vehicles used in the production or transportation of ag products. Specifically it exempts certain overwidth farm equipment from permits, fees and escorts as long as the equipment possesses warning lamps and a slow-moving vehicle sign. SB 1946 passed the Legislature April 30.
