STATE ISSUES PREVAILING WAGE SURVEY RESULTS

The Agency for Workforce Innovation, formerly the Florida Department of Labor and Employment Security, recently released the results of its 2005 season prevailing wage findings for Florida. The following are the results of the survey:

Wage Reporting Area -- Rate

Central Florida: -- $0.84 per 90 Pound Box
Orange, Early and
Midseason for
processing

East Coast of Florida: -- No Finding
Orange, Early and
Midseason for
processing

Southern Florida: -- $0.90 per 90 Pound Box
Midseason for
processing

Central Florida:
Strawberry Harvest -- $1.50 per 8-1lb. clam
fresh market shell flat

Strawberry Planting -- $10.00 per 1,000 plants

The prevailing wage surveys are conducted each season by The Agency for Workforce Innovation in order to establish the wage that must be offered by employers requesting certification for the employment of H-2A foreign workers
