WAL-MART TO BUY PRODUCE DIRECT FROM EUROPEAN FARMERS

In a move to serve markets in southern and western Germany, Wal-Mart plans to buy produce, meat and dairy items direct from farmers in the EU. Industry sources say the giant retailer plans to build a fresh food packing center in the German town of Bingin next year.
