SFWMD RULE DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS OFFERED

The South Florida Water Management District has scheduled two additional public workshops on proposed revisions to the district’s Environmental Resource Permitting (ERP) rules. The proposed rules will establish new water quality requirements for a huge area designated as the Lake Okeechobee and Estuary Watershed Basin, which includes all or parts of 12 counties in Central and South Florida.

The rule increases the standards for all new developments, but will also increase the stormwater treatment and discharge requirements for some farms.

Workshops are scheduled for: August 29, 10:00 a.m., 2301 McGregor Blvd., Fort Myers; and September 12, 1:00 p.m., 1921 Kissimmee Valley Lane, Kissimmee.
