WRITING FINAL REGULATION COVERING SUPPLEMENTAL DISASTER PACKAGE The USDA's
Farm Service Agency (FSA) is currently writing a final regulation for review within
USDA, and later the Office of Management and Budget, concerning the Emergency
Agricultural Disaster Assistance Act of 2006. The process is expected to be concluded
within two months. The statute allows for the regulation to be effective upon
publication. The regulation covers all of the provisions that Congress included
in the Supplemental Disaster package including the sections on citrus and vegetables,
which applies to multiple counties (including those outside of Florida) impacted
by the hurricanes of 2005. The Agency is also preparing the software needed to
begin sign up once the regulation is published. To
