SPECIALTY CROP FARM BILL ALLIANCE WORKING ON SENATE BILL CONCERNS
- As part of its efforts to secure fair represen-tation of the specialty crop industry in the upcoming farm bill, the Specialty Crop Farm Bill Alliance steering and legislative committees participated in a conference call April 3 to identify any “material or obvious concerns/revisions/errors” to drafted Senate bill language of the specialty crop legislation.
-
- The committees plan to address these concerns with Senate staffers before the Senate sponsors introduce the bill after returning from their Easter break. Several suggestions were made as a result of the conference call and via email. The committees have developed a document that they believe captures all of the suggestions and will submit it to those staffers, who say they will host a conference call early this week to discuss the suggested changes in further detail.
