DEPT. OF REVENUE TO HOLD ELECTRICITY SALES TAX EXEMPTION WORKSHOP

The Florida Department of Revenue (DOR) has scheduled a rule-development workshop for the electricity sales tax exemption that passed the Legislature last session. The workshop will be held at 10 a.m. Aug. 29 at the Florida Farm Bureau Building, 5700 S.W. 34th St., Gainesville. It will cover the requirements for claiming the exemption for electricity used for the production or processing of agricultural farm products on a farm.

Also at this workshop, DOR will be discussing a proposed amendment to its rule for the sales tax exemption on power farm equipment. This meeting is open to the public.
