AGAIN, IMPORTANT YEAR-END REMINDERS

Although previously mentioned in Rap-Up, it bears repeating that employers must now use only the revised form I-9 for all new hires. Employers who fail to use the revised form will be subject to penalties.

Both the revised form and the Handbook for Employers, Instructions for Completing the Form I-9 are available online at www.uscis.gov. To order forms, call USCIS toll-free at (800) 870-3676. For forms and information on immigration laws, regulations, and procedures, call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283.

Another important change takes place on Jan. 1, 2008 when Florida’s new minimum wage increases from $6.67 per hour to $6.79 per hour. The revised state minimum wage posters are available free of charge to FFVA members. Contact the Labor Relations Division for yours.
