SFWMD ELECTS OFFICERS, SCHEDULES C-139 BASIN GRANTS WORKSHOP

The South Florida Water Management District governing board has reelected Eric Buermann as chair and elected Shannon Estenoz as vice-chair. Estenoz was also elected to serve as the vice chair of the Water Resources Advisory Commission, which serves as a primary advisory body to both the governing board and the South Florida Ecosystem Restoration Task Force. Governing board member Mike Collins will continue to serve as chair of the advisory commission.

In other SFWMD news, the first C-139 Basin Grant Program Workshop will be May 29 at 10 a.m. The workshop will be held at the district’s Clewiston Field Station. Growers within the C-139 basin are encouraged to participate in this workshop to investigate BMP cost-share opportunities.
