AG IN THE CLASSROOM CHANGES GRANT POLICIES

Because of the increasing popularity of Florida Ag in the Classroom's teacher and volunteer grants programs, the organization will institute some changes for this coming year. Revisions have been made in both the way it awards money and the requirements it asks of its grant recipients.

Among the programs’ changes, both teacher and volunteer recipients must now include local farmers or industry representatives in their projects, and applicants eligible for teacher grants must be general education teachers who integrate agriculture lessons into their curriculum.

Agriscience teachers may apply for volunteer grants if they intend to expand their lessons to the school's general population.

Deadlines for application, amounts of money available, and re-application rules have also been changed.

For additional information and grant applications, contact Ag in the Classroom at (352) 846-1391 or email LBGaskalla@ifas.ufl.edu.
