TOMATO COMMITTEE VOTES ON UGLYRIPE

The Florida Tomato Committee voted 8-3 to deny a request from a grower of the UglyRipe tomato variety to allow it to be shipped out of state during this year’s growing season. The grower told reporters he would try to get the committee to reconsider its vote. If it does not, he may appeal the decision to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
