TEENA BOREK ACCEPTS WOMAN OF THE YEAR IN AGRICULTURE AWARD

FFVA Board Member Teena Borek accepted the 2004 Woman of the Year in Agriculture award from Florida Agriculture Commissioner Charles Bronson Thursday (February 10).

Ceremonies were held at the opening day luncheon of the Florida State Fair in Tampa.

Borek, head of Stephen Borek Farms of Homestead, joined 20 other women who have earned the respect and admiration of their peers by making outstanding contributions to Florida agriculture.

“Teena Borek exemplifies all the excellent qualities we tend to associate with the small family farmer -- hard work, perseverance, strength, resolve and quiet dignity,” said Commissioner Bronson.

FFVA and other members of the Florida agriculture industry attended the ceremony and congratulated Borek on her well-deserved award.
