USDA SCIENTIST RECEIVES AWARDS

Dr. Tim Gottwald, research leader and plant pathologist at the U.S. Horticultural Research Laboratory in Fort Pierce, has been selected by USDA Agricultural Research Service (ARS) as the Distinguished Senior Research Scientist of the Year. The award recognizes outstanding scientific leadership and the application of epidemiology to control and/or eradicate serious exotic and domestic plant diseases.

Among his greater accomplishments, Dr. Gottwold is behind the much publicized research aimed at eradicating citrus canker.
