FFVA'S DAN BOTTS TO SERVE ON SPECIALTY CROP COMMITTEE

Dan Botts, FFVA's director, Environmental & Pest Management Division, has been named to the National Agricultural Research, Extension, Education, and Economics Advisory Board's Specialty Crop Committee.

The new committee is responsible for studying the scope and effectiveness of research, extension, and economic programs affecting the specialty crop industry.

“The committee makes recommendations to USDA on critical agriculture policies, and we are gratified to have someone of Dan’s expertise sitting at the table,” said FFVA President Mike Stuart.

The board's executive committee appointed eight members to the Specialty Crop Committee during the biannual meeting earlier this month in Washington, DC.

The Specialty Crop Committee was established by Congress under Section 303 of the Specialty Crops Competitiveness Act of 2004. President Bush signed the Act into law December 21, 2004.
