CITRUS CANKER CONTINUES TO SPREAD, BUT SLOWS, SAY OFFICIALS

Inspectors found trees infected with citrus canker in several areas ot the state last week. On Monday (March 28), state officials announced two more infected groves had been found in southern St. Lucie County.

Later in the week, canker turned up in the Lake Davis area of downtown Orlando and in the South Florida coastal community of Highland Beach. In spite of these new finds, state agriculture officials say the spread of the disease is slowing.
