REMINDER: FARM EQUIPMENT SALES TAX EXEMPTION GOES INTO EFFECT

HB643, which exempts all agricultural power equipment from the Florida state sales tax, went into effect Friday (July 1). The law was a legislative priority for FFVA during the past session. As of July 1, purchases of power farm equipment, which is defined as moving or stationery equipment that contains within itself the means for its own propulsion or power and moving or stationary equipment that is dependent upon an external power source to perform its functions, will not be taxed. This includes tractors, generators, harvesters, disks, harrows, conveyors, pumps, and all other power-driven, power-drawn or self-propelled equipment.
