BRONSON SEEKS FUNDS
 
As recent hurricanes underscore the vulnerability that coastal states face, the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services' budget request for the coming year is seeking increased funding and manpower for health, safety and security programs, Commissioner Charles Bronson announced Thursday (October 13). Budget enhancements being sought include funds for citrus canker eradication and compensation, 10 additional pesticide-safety inspectors, , and 5 additional inspectors in the department's Food Safety Division.
