ISSUE 1089 GOVERNOR
BUSH ANNOUNCES FIRST "BRIDGE LOANS" Governor Bush announced Thursday (November 10) that the first loans from the recently activated State Emergency "Bridge Loan" Program have been awarded. On Wednesday, $2 million was made available to hurricane-impacted businesses in Glades, Hendry and Okeechobee counties, and the communities of Belle Glade, Pahokee and South Bay. Additional loans were offered the next day to two Broward County firms. The governor is encouraging other businesses, including smaller farms, to apply for the loans, which bridge the gap between the time a major catastrophe hits and when a business has secured other resources. For an application or more information on the program, contact the Governor's Office of Tourism, Trade, and Economic Development at (850) 487-2568, or call the following numbers: · Broward County - (954) 524-3113
