DELEGATION TO TOUR FLORIDA FARMS DAMAGED BY HURRICANE

Florida Agriculture Commissioner Charles Bronson, USDA Deputy Secretary Chuck Conner, and Congressmen Mario Diaz-Balart, Adam Putnam, and Mark Foley will tour several Florida ag operations Monday (November 21) to see, first-hand, damage caused by Hurricane Wilma.

In addition to the farm tour, the group will hold two question-and-answer sessions in Homestead and LaBelle. Vegetable and citrus growers who experienced losses are encouraged to attend and speak out about damage to fields and groves, overall hurricane effects on these industries in Southwest Florida and other issues like citrus canker.

GROWERS AFFECTED BY HURRICANES ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND ONE OF THE FOLLOWING Q&A SESSIONS:

11:25 a.m. Homestead General Aviation Airport 28700 SW 217 Ave., Homestead

2:00 p.m. UF/IFAS Hendry County Extension Office, 1085 Pratt Blvd., LaBelle
