Florida Agriculture Commissioner Charles Bronson announced
November 14, that the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services
(FDACS) will enter into a joint marketing program with PriceSmart, Inc., to feature
Florida agricultural products in several of the company's Central American and
Caribbean warehouse clubs. The pilot marketing program is part of an effort to
help Florida growers expand into markets following the recent adoption of the
Central American Free Trade Agreement, or CAFTA-DR. The
program includes a variety of Florida commodities that will be featured in store
displays and through product demonstrations. The clubs will increase their orders
of Florida products in advance of the promotions to handle the anticipated boost
in sales.
