GOVERNOR BUSH SIGNS LOBBYING REFORM BILL INTO LAW

Governor Jeb Bush signed into law Tuesday (December 20) Senate Bill 6B, which states that lobbyists and their clients are prohibited from spending any funds, except for certain flower arrangements and celebratory items, on members of the Legislature, their staff, statewide elected officials and senior agency officials in the executive branch of government.

The new measure goes into effect January 1, 2006.

It also requires registered lobbyists and their clients to disclose lobbyist compensation in quarterly reports filed with the state beginning in May 2006.
