HOUSE TO HOLD HEARINGS THIS SUMMER ON IMMIGRATION REFORM

Leaders from the U.S. House of Representatives said Tuesday (June 20) that they plan to hold hearings this summer around the country on immigration reform.

The decision places an obstacle in the path of the already passed legislation since lawmakers tend to shy away from controversial issues in the months nearing elections. Formal negotiations will not start until September.
