UNITED,
ALLIED GROUPS TO HOLD IMMIGRATION RALLY AT U.S. CAPITOL United
Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Association, National Council of Agricultural Employers
and the Agriculture Coalition for Immigration Reform announced last week (August
14) that they are organizing an immigration rally on Capitol Hill on Wednesday,
September 13, concurrent with Uniteds annual Washington Public Policy Conference.
The
event will be the second Capitol Hill rally these organizations have coordinated
this year to highlight to Congress the need for comprehensive immigration reform.
FFVA Chairman Tony DiMare and President Mike Stuart will represent Florida growers
at the rally. Following
the rally, participants will spend the afternoon educating members of Congress
about the critical need for immigration reform to provide a legal and stable workforce. United
members may register for either the three-day Public Policy Conference, Wednesday
only, or rally only. Contact Angela Bezon at (202) 303-3416 for details.
