CALIFORNIA TOMATO COMMISSION DOWNSIZES

California's fresh tomato commission has announced it is doing away with its marketing and government affairs programs. The organization will, however, continue to focus on research, including new seed variety development and pest management. Commission President Ed Beckman said in a statement that the changing tomato market forced the industry to re-examine how it does business.
