FDACS, UF/IFAS OFFERS TRAINING MATERIALS FOR CITRUS PRODUCERS
 
The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences have made available two new online training programs to the citrus industry.
 
A citrus harvester decontamination video is available in English and Spanish at www.doacs.state.fl.us/pi/videos.html. You may either download the video or call for DVD or VHS copies at (800) 282-5153. On-site training is available by calling the same number.
 
Citrus disease identification training is also underway to help graders at packinghouses identify citrus canker and other diseases. Post-harvest resources may be found at http://postharvest.ifas.ufl.edu. Citrus packers who would like more information about disease identification may also call (800) 282-5153.
