PETERSON NAMES FLORIDA’S TIM MAHONEY TO HOUSE AG COMMITTEE
 
Congressman Tim Mahoney of Florida is among seven freshmen Democratic members of Congress who will serve on the House Agriculture Committee. Agriculture Committee Chairman Collin C. Peterson of Minnesota also named five representatives from the Midwest and High Plains to committee posts as well as one congresswoman from New York. The seven freshmen legislators will join 18 returning Democratic members of the committee. The House Republican Conference has named 21 Republicans to serve on the Committee. A major responsibility of the Agriculture Committee in the 110th Congress is to craft a new farm bill.
