The
Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services announced Jan. 24 that
the Bureau of License and Bond is now known as the Bureau of Agricultural Dealers
Licenses. The bureau was renamed to promote clarity and to make it easier for
the public to decide which state office to call for assistance.
The
office deals only with agricultural dealers licenses, but the bureaus
previous name sounded very broad in scope and caused confusion in the mind of
the public, said Agriculture Commissioner Charles Bronson.
The
Bureau of Agricultural Dealers Licenses is responsible for the licensing
of dealers in agricultural products. Producers who have been damaged by a dealers
failure to make proper accounting or payment for agricultural products may file
a complaint with the newly renamed bureau.
