OPERATION CLEANSWEEP SURPASSES
1 MILLION-POUND COLLECTION MARK

Operation Cleansweep, the project that offers a safe, convenient and cost-effective mechanism for agricultural operations, golf courses and pest control companies to properly dispose of canceled, suspended and unusable pesticides, has now collected and disposed of more than 1 million pounds of these unwanted chemical materials.

More than 1,400 participants in 65 Florida counties have disposed of materials. The project will continue to offer pickup and disposal service statewide as long as funding for the calendar year remains available.

Details and instructions on how to sign up for the free pickup service are available by calling (877) 851-5285. The program is expected to have enough monetary backing to provide the disposal service through about June, so it’s important to call early to reserve your spot on the list.
