CROCKER TO LEAD STRAWBERRY GROWERS ASSOCIATION

Following a nationwide search, the Florida Strawberry Growers Association has named B. Shawn Crocker as its new executive director. Crocker was already at work Jan. 30, the day the board announced his hiring. He replaces Charles F. "Chip" Hinton, who resigned in November. Crocker previously worked as manager of field operations and procurement for Cargill Juice North America Inc., and grew up working in his family's Polk County-based cattle and citrus business.

Crocker’s wife, Ila, worked for five years as the association's director of marketing and promotions until she left in September 2005.
