USDA OFFERS LOW-INTEREST EMERGENCY LOANS

USDA’S Farm Service Agency (FSA) announced Feb. 27 that farmers in 14 north and central Florida counties that suffered significant damage caused by recent storms may apply for low-interest emergency loans from the agency. Funds must be used to overcome physical losses, clean debris or prepare land for replanting, and to replace livestock, supplies and harvested crops on hand or in storage that were lost. Eligible farmers can also use emergency loan funds toward production losses to recover a portion of losses on growing crops that were destroyed.

Emergency Loan Program applications for physical and production losses are due in county FSA offices by Oct. 3.
