May 7, 2007 ISSUE 1165 SFWMD CHAIRMAN STEPS DOWN Kevin McCarty, chairman of the South Florida Water Management District's (SFWMD) Governing Board, announced May 4 that he is stepping down to make room for another appointee. McCarty had sent a letter to Gov. Charlie Crist April 30 saying he would be withdrawing his name for reappointment. Former Gov. Jeb Bush apppointed McCarty to the board in 2003. He was voted chairman in March 2005. | |
