SPECIALTY CROP FARM BILL ALLIANCE TO BRIEF CONGRESS ON NUTRITION PRIORITIES

The Specialty Crop Farm Bill Alliance has scheduled briefings May 10 with the House and Senate to highlight the nutrition priorities in each of the specialty crop bills.
The briefings, Addressing Childhood Obesity in the 2007 Farm Bill, are co-sponsored by the American Farmland Trust and the National Alliance for Nutrition and Activity, which represents about 300 public health, physical activity and nutrition organizations.

The Specialty Crop Farm Bill Alliance, which FFVA President Mike Stuart co-chairs, supports federal farm policies that enhance the competitiveness of specialty crop producers and benefit American consumers.
