AGJOBS SPONSOR CRAIG RECONSIDERS RESIGNING

Sen. Larry Craig (R-Idaho) is reconsidering his decision to resign after his arrest in a Minnesota airport sex sting and may still fight for his Senate seat, his spokesman said Sept. 4.

Spokesman Sidney Smith said he and other staff are still preparing as if the senator will resign Sept. 30, but said that the outcome of the legal case in Minnesota and an ethics investigation will have an impact on future plans.
Craig has been a key player in the passage of the AgJOBS reform as a stand-alone bill in the wake of the recent failure of comprehensive immigration reform in the Senate.

AgJOBS would permit certain farm workers with a known work history in U.S. agriculture to remain legally and would reform the H-2A worker program.
