FARM LABOR HOUSING AVAILABLE

FFVA has recently been advised that a new farm labor facility, Rural Neighborhoods, has completed 100 units of USDA Farmworker Family Housing in Okeechobee. These units are restricted to persons employed in agriculture – harvest workers, grove employees, cattle or daily personnel or nursery staff.  Some income restrictions apply, and the units cannot be used for H-2A.

It is ideal for year-round staff living in Okeechobee, Indiantown and Fort Pierce.  Maximum rents are $380+/- for a one-bedroom to $540 +/- for a three-bedroom unit, but because of rental assistance most households will pay less than $300.

These low rents will help retain employees and serve as a stabilizing factor given increases in gas prices to workers etc. Units are available immediately. For additional information call (305) 242-2142 and ask for Steve Kirk.
