FDA TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARINGS ON TRACEABILITY

The Food and Drug Administration announced Sept. 22 that it will hold two public meetings to discuss produce tracing systems.

The first will be Oct. 16 in College Park, Md. and the second in Oakland, Calif. on Nov. 13.

Issues to be covered range from the scope of traceability and the costs, benefits and logistics of standardization to FDA's role in enhancing produce traceability.
