DEP SOLVES WETLANDS CRIME

After a three month investigation, Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) law enforcement agents recently arrested a man for causing pollution, a third degree felony punishable by up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.

Thomas Bodie, who was arrested after clearing and filling approximately 10 acres of state jurisdictional wetlands, was also charged with failing to obtain a permit, a misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.
