ISSUE 1246

COMING SOON: REVAMPED WEB SITE AND MEMBER NEWSLETTER

FFVA will launch a new and improved Web site next month that will provide members with instant online access to tools and resources to help them compete and grow their business.

Besides a bright, easy-to-read design, the site will offer several new features. FFVA members will be able to manage their membership information online, register for events, contact their legislators, view committee rosters, specify how they would like to receive FFVA newsletters and bulletins, and more. The site will feature the latest information and resources on labor issues, crop protection, food safety, water management, regulatory compliance and legislation – all important issues that affect our members’ bottom lines.

In addition, members of the news media – who often use FFVA’s site as a resource – will be able to access the online news center, which will include news releases, fact sheets, photographs and other key information.

“In today’s world of electronic media, Web sites must be dynamic. They have to continually evolve with new content and more opportunities for interaction between an organization and its members,” said Lisa Lochridge, FFVA’s director of public affairs. “Our Web site essentially has two functions. One is to serve as a resource for our members and as a gateway for them to communicate with us. We want our Web site to be our members’ first source for news and information. You can visit ffva.com everyday and see new content. The site also must function as a voice on behalf of Florida’s specialty crop industry to the members of the public – including the media – who visit our site.”

In addition to the new Web site, FFVA also will unveil a revamped newsletter in December. Rap-Up will become The FFVA Voice, which will continue to offer producer members the most up-to-date news and information on industry developments and FFVA activities. “The new name better reflects the role FFVA plays in the industry on behalf of our members,” Lochridge said. The newsletter will continue to be available electronically via e-mail and in hard-copy format through regular mail.

Members will still receive FFVA’s online monthly magazine, Harvester, by e-mail.
