Membership, Marketing and International Trade
FFVA members recognize that marketing is essential for success and growth. The
Membership, Marketing and International Trade Division operates an Exchange Management
Group that administers several commodity exchanges for producers, including the Florida
Sweet Corn Exchange, the Sweet Corn Growers Exchange, the Florida Vegetable Exchange,
the Florida Green Bean Exchange and the Quincy Tomato Growers Exchange. These exchanges
offer value by helping producers manage marketing programs on several fronts.
They also make it easy for producers to monitor production
conditions and make the most of dynamic markets. In addition, the division’s Marketing
Management Service offers staff expertise to members for resolving shipping disputes
under the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act.
FFVA members also enjoy a retail price monitoring service available exclusively on
FFVA’s Web site. The service offers pricing data for sample stores in Atlanta, Chicago,
Dallas, Los Angeles, New York and Toronto. The weekly data shows retail prices for
popular Florida products, helping shippers monitor their most important markets and make
certain consumers get the value they expect.
The division also provides members with access to FFVA’s partnership with C.H. Robinson
Worldwide Inc., one of the world’s largest transportation, logistics and sourcing
companies. Increased competition and rising fuel costs present tough transportation
challenges for growers. Through FFVA, members have access to efficient, effective
solutions dedicated to the delivery of fresh produce from Florida.
