COACH, SPORTSCASTER TERRY BOWDEN MOTIVATES AT FFVA'S
62ND ANNUAL CONVENTION
Terry Bowden knows how to take on a challenge.
He can identify with Florida growers faced with unrelenting obstacles
on the path to success. Known for his remarkable college coaching
career as well as a second career in network sportscasting, he's
never been the type to let adversity get in his way. Bowden will
share his exciting perspectives on success September 27 with Florida
Fruit & Vegetable Association's (FFVA) members and others
as the Awards Luncheon Speaker at FFVA's 62nd Annual Convention
at the Omni Resort at ChampionsGate.
His presentation, titled "Audacity,
the belief that you can accomplish anything," will focus
on how to motivate every member of an organization to want to
do his or her best.
"It's about convincing each
and every one of us about the difference they can make,"
says Bowden. "It's facing adversity with the belief that
you can accomplish anything. No matter who you are, no matter
how tough the objectives, you can get the job done if you put
your mind to it."
Bowden's coaching record is an example
of what can be accomplished with this "audacity" attitude.
As head coach of the Auburn Tigers, he won 73% of his games and
posted the best opening five-year run of any head football coach
in school history. Also during his helm at Auburn, Bowden became
the first college coach in 50 years to win his 100th career game
by his 40th birthday.
Now retired from coaching, Terry
Bowden has become one of the top studio analysts in college football
as an analyst for ABC Sports.
Bowden comes from one of the most
successful families in college football. His father, Bobby Bowden,
turned Florida State into a national champion, his brother Tommy
is head coach at Clemson, brother Jeff is the offensive coordinator
at Florida State and brother-in-law Jack Hines is an assistant
coach at Clemson.
"We're excited to hear Terry's
message," said FFVA President Mike Stuart. "He's a great
example of someone who can look challenges in the eye and work
through them - all without losing his sense of humor," said
Stuart.
