DCFB Executive Director Position Announcement
 

ABOUT DADE COUNTY FARM BUREAU AND DADE AGRICULTURE:

Based in multicultural, metropolitan Miami-Dade County, the Dade County Farm Bureau (DCFB) is located in Homestead.   With over 4,000 members, DCFB is the oldest county Farm Bureau in Florida.   It has garnered awards from both American and Florida Farm Bureau, including the prestigious President’s Award and County Activity of Excellence Award.    The agricultural industry in Miami-Dade County is comprised of specialty crops sectors including vegetable row crop, horticulture, tropical fruits and aquaculture.    The industry has an economic impact of $1.09 billion.   More information on the DCFB and the industry can be accessed at www.dade-agriculture.org.

NOTICE OF JOB OPENING:

DCFB is seeking qualified applicants to assume the responsibilities of the Executive Director position on August 11, 2008.  A two-week orientation period with the retiring Executive Director prior to August 11 is required.   In order to be considered for an interview, a person must possess the following credentials:

  • Bachelor of science or a minimum of five years experience in agribusiness or a related field
  • Experience in organizational or business management and fundraising
  • Proficiency in writing articles, op-eds and legislative briefs
  • Knowledge of political system in Miami-Dade County and Florida
  • History of community involvement

Salary is commensurate with experience.   Benefits include health insurance, three weeks paid personal leave, $3,000 annual IRA contribution and car allowance or mileage reimbursement.
