FFVA 64TH ANNUAL CONVENTION

INDUSTRY CROSSROADS

More than ever, 2007 is a year when FFVA Producer Members face difficult issues. “How can I ensure I have an adequate, reliable workforce to harvest my crops?” “Will new regulations put me out of business?” “What should I be doing now to best position my operation the future?”

Those questions and more are in the spotlight at FFVA’s 64th Annual Convention, to be held Sept. 16 through 18 at an exciting new venue – the Boca Raton Resort & Club. This year’s theme is “FFVA 2007: Industry Crossroads.”
Educational sessions will provide participants with up-to-date information on ever-changing industry issues.

Timely topics include Charting the Food Safety Course in Florida, Taking a Seat at the Table: Specialty Crops and the Farm Bill, and Risk Management: The Key Word is Management

FFVA Convention Keynote speaker Larry Winget is known as the “Pitbull of Personal Development.”

Keynote speaker will be Larry Winget, who’s known as the “pit bull of personal development.” Winget doesn’t mince words. His first book, Shut Up, Stop Whining and Get a Life, landed on the bestseller list because of its cut-to-the-chase approach. His second book, Work for a Reason, debunks many conventional ideas about success and drives home the point that if you want results, you have to work. “Your success is your own damn fault,” he likes to say.

As always, the convention features a golf tournament, tennis and deep sea fishing, as well as entertaining spouse events, all in a beautiful coastal setting.

Situated on 356 acres in fabled Boca Raton, the resort offers all of the amenities, facilities and services found at the finest properties in the world. Defined by its five distinct styles of contemporary accommodations, a vast array of recreational activities, gourmet dining options and sophisticated meetings and events facilities, the hotel offers a resort experience unsurpassed anywhere in South Florida.

This year’s silent and live auctions will benefit the Redlands Christian Migrant Association, a non-profit organization that provides quality child care and early education for children of migrant farm workers and rural, low-income families throughout Florida. Auction items are still being accepted. Please call (321) 214-5200 if you can provide an item or service. Past items have ranged from weekend getaways to original art, tickets to Florida sports events and collectible pieces. The live auction takes place at the theme party, this year celebrating the 1960s. Make sure to pack your bell bottoms and tie-dyed shirt!

To register, call (321) 214-5200 or visit www.ffva.com soon for online registration.
