PAC SPORTING CLAYS SHOOT A SUCCESS

The FFVA Political Action Committee Sporting Clays Shoot fundraiser at Quail Creek Plantation near Okeechobee brought in about $19,500 less expenses, which have not been totaled.

“Although the event was a success, it was not as successful as previous shoots,” said FFVA Government Affairs Director Butch Calhoun. “We’ll need to raise more revenue for the PAC if we are going to continue to have our voice heard in Tallahassee.”

Sugar Cane Growers Cooperative took the top team prize, shooting 365 out of 400 rounds. Highest shooter was Charlie Hollingsworth of Sugar Cane Growers, shooting a score of 94. Women’s prize went to Vonnie McDaniel with a score of 84.

A total of 49 shooters took part in the Feb. 5 event with many taking home outstanding prizes including shotguns, rifles and other outdoor gear
